EC Cube with an existing EPOS stock management system

0 votes
How easy would it be to integrate EC CUBE with an existing EPOS? In simple terms, the client want to continue using their EPOS to manage products/orders/etc, yet they are adament on usinc EC CUBE for the cart.

Baring in mind that the schema is considerably different, and they are using an MS SQL database, what would be the best way to deal with the replication of data, and syncronising data between EC-CUBES database and an EPOS database.

Would you even recommend using EC-CUBE in a situation like this?

Hello Jeemusu,

You probably first want to look into some sort of ETL tools to manipulate the data into a format that EC-CUBE can accept. Possibly this can be a schedueled job that runs every few hours or nightly.

If the goal is just to view the data from the admin panel, you should be all set if the data is dumped into the table dtb_orders. However it may function incorrectly if a customer id/home address etc. is not associated with it.  In that case, add dummy into those columns.

Please let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks agian,

Mike
